Notes

Hoosier Burn Camp is open for young people ages 8-18 years who have experienced a burn injury or have been treated in the state of Indiana requiring hospitalization.

Camp activities include canoeing, paddle boating, fishing, swimming, archery, crafts, hay rides, horseback riding, and a variety of activities not found at a typical camp. The special programs we make available at camp help the children build self-esteem and realize their highest potential while learning to deal with the obvious burn scars and the deep psychological trauma they often suffer.

Camp staff includes medical personnel, social workers, therapists, fire service personnel, and adult burn survivors who generously volunteer their time. There is a ratio of one counselor for every two children.

There is no cost to the family. It costs our organization approximately $1000 per child to attend camp. We are able to do this solely through donations we receive.
