About I have secondary progressive MS and have gradually lost the ability to stand or walk even the short distances with my walker that I was previously able to do, over a relatively short period of time. I currently do some arm weight exercises and pulleys. Can no longer use total gym for shoulder and leg exercises. Would like can upper body program and maybe some way to improve circulation in my legs as they are terribly swollen. As activity has decreased, have gained weight and have real body image issues. In 2011, I was able to go to the gym six days a week and over the proceeding years have lost it all. Used to ride my horse english, western, trail ride and jump. Now I do therapeutic riding once or twice a month. Have a wonderful husband and family that i adore and are totally supportive of me.

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
