About I live in the country. I have asthma, affected by cold and humidity, which limits my outdoor time. Both knees have been replaced. Can not get on/off floor easily. Have cages and screws in back. I am no longer able to touch my toes etc because of the hardware in my back. Trying to do such exercises can cause damage to the equipment. I have a 5 pound weight lift limit of 5 pounds. I have a pacemaker. I live in constant pain. I also have fibromyalgia There are days I can barely stand. As a disabled nurse I am what is called a train wreck. I have been in physical therapy multiple times. Currently trying to follow Plant Based living, though I still need milk in my coffee. I have lost 50 pounds in the last two years. I am still quite over weight 226 at 5’3. I use to be on my feet for 12 hour days in a inner city hospital. Now a 30 minute walk can tire me out. If I get cold my knees put me to bed with a heated blanket for at least for 2 hours. I feel much better in warmer climates, moving is out of the question at this time. We live in a very small house directly on Lake Huron which is a beautiful view! When we are in warmer climates I love swimming! Water has to be warm or it causes me extreme pain. I love reading, watching historical shows.

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
