About Sister, who is guardian and caregiver, provided response: I am a very social person-I am a performer type person and love an audience. When I have taken group exercise classes, I really love to get to exercise with my friends. I need some motivation and encouragement to get going. I am a great joke teller--give me a word and I will tell a joke. Popeye the Sailor Man is my hero. I like doing jumping jack competitions when we have virtual group exercise sometimes with my skill center. I am always listening to the TV about health and nutrition in the local news. I don't always remember what I hear, though sometimes I do. I am proud of making some major health changes--I quit drinking caffeine last fall after drinking 8-10 liters of diet coke a day. I also used to eat McDonalds every morning, now I just go a few times a month!

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
