About I’m a candidate for a full hip replacement and pre diabetic. Trying to loose weight has been very hard as my hip arthritis has gotten worse. I also have some limited range of my right arm. A cane sometimes is not enough so I use a motorized scooter when I go into the office for work but it takes practice to drive it and get through a five maze spaces. It makes me nervous. I used to swim several times per week. I have a small fitness pool at home but not a heater. I was really active in my 30s but never good at team sports. I used to ski and ride my bike. I used to like ballroom dancing. Now I have a terrible time dealing with weight and movement. Really a lot of very low motivation in past few months and I have a lot of anxiety that keeps me awake at night. I’m glad I found this program and hope I can turn a corner for the good now.

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
