About My name is Missy and I was diagnosed with MS 13 years ago when I was 39. I have always been active and full of energy - and was very athletic when I was younger. I have never been a huge fan of exercise but love being active and rarely stop moving - my loved ones constantly tell my I push myself too hard. Honestly, I am concerned that if I stop, that is it. After battling cancer last year, I gained 30 pounds. While my cancer is now in remission, my MS has gotten worse and the extra weight does not help my mobility. My stamina and strength have really been effected. I work a lot and now, working from home, there is that much less 'moving around' going on. The perfect storm. I fatigue very quickly and the days I get on the Treadmill (1.5 miles is my max before my legs give out) I am out of commission for the rest of the day. I would love to have more stamina and strength and lose the weight I gained!

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
