About Hi there! I'm Chella, a forty something paraplegic living in Portland, OR. I broke my back at age 19. My SCI is at T12. I was also diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011. Surgery was a partial success as it had started to grow into my motor strip. The surgery resulted in losing partial movement in my left arm. Thankfully it was temporary and I regained 95% use. The tumor began to grow again. I battled back with chemo and radiation in late summer 2016. So far, so good! I use a manual wheelchair. I have always been very athletic. Grew up barrel racing horses, riding bmx & motorcycles, dancing, track & field, and gymnastics. I've had injury related setbacks and have spent long periods on bed rest and on the mend. I discovered hand cycling last year and Love it. I joined Adaptive Sports Northwest last summer and rode hand cycles every week at their summer cycle program. Found adaptive bikes to rent through Nike's AdaptiveBiketown program. Looking forward to sunny weather and much more cycling this year. I love to cook and eat healthy. I love music. Am here bc Covid 19 is spreading and I'm in self quarantine. Hoping this program will help during this strange time in our history. Stay safe out there.

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
