About My name is Debra. I am 59 (in a few weeks) and I am married. I have three grown children and three amazing grandchildren. I do arts and crafts and I am currently working on writing a screen play, or at least I'm attempting to. My motivation comes and goes with my confidence in my ability to write anything anyone else might be interested in reading. I have, in the past, been a bad diabetic and the disease has done some not-fun things to my body. I no longer see out of my left eye and, through neuropathy, I am losing my ability to walk and use my hands. I am, belatedly, trying to improve my circumstances by taking control. I seek to lose weight (Ive lost 13 pounds so far and this has allowed me to drastically reduce my insulin intake) and gain more strength in my body. Learning more about nutrition and exercises will help me, I believe, attain these goals. I also hope to make new friends. I enjoy a good sense of humor. Laughter is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
