About My name is Jerrie. I am a 50 something year old female who's mothers side of the family has Mitochondrial Myopathy. I have been a healthcare provider for my family for the past 10+ years and since my uncle passed in 2017 I decided this was too depressing. I changed my career. I went from basically sitting for 10-12 hours, then sleeping to doing nothing for a year and to now on my feet, putting up shelves, taking down shelves, put merchandise on shelves, squatting, standing up, etc. I am hurting and stumbling a lot. I am not sure if this is the disease or the lack of me not using my muscles for that length of time...or both. Because I will be loosing my muscles, I want to hold on to them as long as possible. I have a tough time picking up wheelchair for my mom on good days and on bad days use cane and wheelchair around house. I am hoping this will help me out with motivating and learning new exercises and better eating habits.
