About | I was a competition swimmer in high school, and later learned I swam at a Paralympic level (not available at that time). It would have been great to compete with others at the same level, and not just myself. I use a walker or wheelchair to get around, depending on distance. I am currently using oxygen for sleeping and exercising. I was born with both hips and my left knee dislocated. Currently, both hips have been totally replaced and my left knee is fused. I also have allergies, asthma, chronic fatigue, COPD, fibromyalgia, migraines and sciatica. I hope to be able to financially afford to join a local warm pool by Fall 2018. I've joined this program for realistic exercise instead of continuing to wait until the pool to start exercising. |

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!
What is the program?
- Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
- Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
- Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
- Duration: 14 weeks
How does it work?
- You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
- We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
- Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
