This article gives the reader an idea of how one can incorporate exercise into the routine of a person with a spinal cord injury. It also illustrates how small increments of exercise can still provide metabolic and cardiopulmonary benefits for the exerciser. Although the article does not have a high amount of external validity, being a single case design, it does provide the data to show that more people with a C4 spinal cord injury can benefit by doing resistive exercise and increase oxygen uptake and ventilation.
