Breakfast Facts

When you skip breakfast…

  • You may feel tired
  • You may fall asleep when you should be awake
  • You may feel cranky, grumpy, or irritated
  • Your stomach may be grumbling or ache
  • You may feel nauseous, dizzy, or feel like you could faint
  • You may have a hard time concentrating or paying attention

You may be skipping breakfast because…

  • You are in a rush to get to school or work
  • You may wake up late
  • You may not feel hungry right after you wake up
  • You may not have breakfast foods at home
  • You may not like breakfast foods

A healthy breakfast is…

  • Low in sugar
  • Includes vegetables
  • Includes protein

Breakfast ideas include…

  • Omelet with cheese and vegetables
  • Plain yogurt with sliced berries
  • Scrambled eggs with a piece of whole wheat toast
  • 1/4 cup plain oatmeal with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
