Dwarf Athletic Association of America (DAAA)

The DAAA basketball rules state that the National Federation of State High School Associations basketball rules and changes shall be used except when they are in conflict with the DAAA basketball rules and in this case the Official DAAA Rules will apply. The Official DAAA Rules incorporate the standard size and dimensions as basketball for court size, basket, and the backboard. Players are categorized into a Junior division of up to 15 years and an Open division for 16 years and above. Teams are comprised of both male and female players within a single age division. A Junior’s sized ball of International size 5 is used for Junior competition and a Women’s sized ball of International size 6 is used for Open competition. In Team 5-on-5 competition, there is no classification system used in either the Junior or Open divisions. The main modification for DAAA basketball is that the time limit under the basket allows for five seconds in the key (paint) during offense as opposed to three seconds in basketball. To learn more about DAAA basketball and to get involved go to http://www.daaa.org/DAAA_home.html.
