Eating at a Convenience Store
- Fresh fruit is sold by the register at many convenience stores
- Granola bars like Nature Valley are great snack options
- Half of a protein meal bar like Special K can be quite filling as a snack
- If you want chips, choose the baked versions instead
- Avoid the full calorie sodas and sport drinks; go for the bottled water
- Stop at a gas station that is connected to a healthier fast food restaurant to get a proper meal instead of snacking all day (Subway, for example)
Dining on Fast Food
- Grilled chicken sandwiches and deli wraps are great options for healthy on-the-go eating as are salads with grilled chicken and light dressing
- Avoid French fries and full calorie sodas
- Order water and add a bit of calorie-free flavoring (Mio or Dasani) in your cup
