Instruction

The golf industry has developed a website called Play Golf America (www.playgolfamerica.com) which has a database of PGA (Professional Golfer's Association of America) golf professionals that provide instruction to people with disabilities.

Recently, the PGA of America has teamed up with Disabled Sports USA and the US Department of Defense to provide instructional programs for wounded veterans.

The First Tee (www.thefirsttee.org) is a national golf industry initiative that is located in 49 states and is serving 685,000 participants in a comprehensive life skills and golf development program. Increasingly, First Tee Chapters are including kids with disabilities in these programs.

In addition to the national golf industry programs and initiatives mentioned above, there are also many programs throughout the country that focus on golf and people with disabilities.

Programs such as those of the National Alliance for Accessible Golf (www.accessgolf.org) are located in many cities across the country. The internet is a great place to find current programs and events that provide golf opportunities for people with disabilities.

The following video provide examples of an inclusive kids golf program.
