Inclusion: Including People with Disabilities is based on a training manual developed through the Rural Recreation Integration Project, a three-year federally funded project in North Dakota. The project was developed to include people with disabilities in all aspects of community life, in order to bridge the gap between recreation and leisure services and human services, and help professionals accomplish this task.
Chapters include information on developing accessible recreation and leisure programs for participants with and without disabilities; addressing physical accessibility and administrative concerns with inclusion; and more. The book concludes with appendices that include sample staff training exercises and job descriptions, as well as references and resources for locating additional information.
