Weighting is modified for individuals with amputations, paraplegia, quadriplegia and other physical disabilities. Weight belts provide control and balance and are adjustable while the individual is scuba diving. A weight harness worn around the waist can also be used. Buoyancy control vests are integral parts of the vest and not worn on the body. Ankle weights may also be wrapped around some of the equipment to further to help an individual go underwater easier. Dive buddies or assistants increase or decrease the weights while diving to adjust to the individual with disability's needs.
