About I'm a retired broadcast journalist and now I'm a beach bum, literally. My wife and I live in a condo right on the ocean in Maryland. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1980 and a use a cane for short distances and a scooter to travel more than a city block. My upper body strength is good but I have difficulty with my legs. In the summer I try to swim laps and/or walk in the pool most days. In cooler months I try to work out with weigh machines and ride a few minutes on a stationary bike. I'm a ham radio operator. I also write a weekly column called The MS Wire, for www.multiplesclerosisnews.com as well as writing for my personal blog, www.themswire.com.

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
