About My name is Susan and I have been diagnosed with MS for the past 24 years. I recently retired as a middle school teacher after 30 years but have come back to teach the computer class I taught at middle school to elementary students in grades k-5. In the past I have enjoyed walking outside for activity and bike riding. My coordination and balance aren't as good as they used to be so I purchase a 3 wheel bike to ride. I have not been able to exercise regularly and want to begin riding my bike daily. We also have an ingound pool that I want to start swimming in weather permitting when school is out.I spent the past year taking care of my 83 year old mother who passed away in December and I am ready to devote some time on me and getting myself in order both physically and mentally. I look forward to what this group has to offer and for some individuals who are experiencing MS too.

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
