About My name is michael. I became disabled in 2008. Gained 150 lbs. I went from having 3 things wrong with me to 16. I just got off a walker I have been using for 8 months. I have fibromyalgia (under control with naturopathic meds):, diabetes (under control); need a right knee replacement; obese at 345 lbs; osteoporosis in left knee; mild COPD; high cholesterol, blood pressure and trigylcerides; GERD; heart attack and surgery in 2010; cancer and surgery (3 years cancer free); daily migraines (getting fewer and fewer); mild depression (who wouldn't be in my condition); gout; asthma; bad neck and back (not bad lately); sleep apnea (use CPAP); and hypertension. Besides that, everything is just hunky dorey. I have a bright, positive attitude through it all. I just started aquarobics last week and plan to attend 3 days a week (Pass paid for by state). Also I joined a rec center (paid by Kaiser Permanente) with full weights room, walking, rowing, and bicycle machines. I don't have personal trainer so I am looking on internet for exercise programs. I have full use of all parts of body except my knees are both bad. Neck and back pain comes and goes. I am also attending an 8 week weight management class, thru kaiser permanente. I used to go out every day and attend all the FREE activities I could do, every day. I Was up to 2 1/2 miles a day walking 2 years ago. Then injured both knees. I plan to get back to 2 1/2 miles a day again and attending all the FREE activities I can. I have been a loner, but am 57 (look 40) and want to make new friends. I hung out with a bad crowd and want to change my ways and meet new and fun people. My income is $764 a month on disability, so I can only afford free events most of the time. I used to have a business called Starvin Marvin Scrap Metal Recycling, (January 2008 - Dec 2013) (wrote $50,000 grant threw PASS Plan - Plan to Achieve Self Support, under Social Security Disablity) but had to give it because of health reasons at the beginning of this year. My mind used to be sharp as a tack but is now dull as a butter knife) I was totally inactive for first 8 months of this year and am just starting up again. I will push myself too work hard at recovering physical health. I have a high threshold for pain, so I can do just that. After my cancer and heart attack I began to look at world differently. I will attend any type of activity from equestrian to ballet to combine demolition derby to orchestra to hard rock, to events at book stores to renaissance festivals to skateboard competitions to writing classes to plays to special olympics to kite boarding to hippie country fairs to Shakesphere to outdoor concerts of any type of music etc. I cant seem to find anyone with my attitude towards world. Everyone seems to stick to their narrow little worlds that only have people just like them and are not willing to expand in any way. BORING.
