Outcome measures were spontaneous eye blinks, acoustic startle eye blink response, and motor impersistence (all tested via Motor Impersistence Battery). State anxiety was assessed by the STAI-C. Participants went through two exercise sessions and one quiet rest session, each on consecutive days. The first exercise session was a peak oxygen uptake while on a treadmill. The second exercise session was at submaximal intensity. The second and third days consisted of either submaximal tests or a quiet rest session.
